“John Myers of Lawrence Co., Ms to “James Thames and Adam Brinson, Trustees for the Baptist Church by the name of Hebron, being situated on the East Fork of Silver Creek, a certain lot or parcel of land…being part of Patent No 725 issued at Washington City bearing date, 22nd of Mar 1820…and granted to Knel Evans and conveyed from said Evans to me…for the good will and affecin that I have for the cause of religion” Jan 6, 1827, signed John Myers; witness: Thomas Hutchens, James Courtney, rec Apr 14, 1827, Harmon M. Runnels, Clk.”

Also, an article in the Clarion Ledger in 1967 stated…

“Thomas Bill Slater, the other original settler with John Myers Sr…he helped John Myers build the old Hebron Church back in 1822.”
