Mayersville, Issqueua County, Mississippi, 1891

Mayersville, the seat of justice of Issqueua County, was named ia honor of David Mayer, an extensive cotton planter, formerly of that county, now of Vicksburg, is located on the Mississippi River and is a shipping point of importance, with good educational and religious institutions and a progressive class of business men and citizens.
